Guerlain Shalimar Parfum Initial and Idylle Duet

New successors of the popular fragrances Shalimar and Idylle will be added to the rich collection of Guerlain perfume. Shalimar receives another version, called Shalimar Parfum Initial in March, while after Idylle EDT will be succeeded by Idylle Duet version.
Shalimar Parfum Initial – scent of desires, joy and sensuality arrives in a flacon which reminds us of shape of the traditional edition. The new bottle is taller and sleeker than the previous. It is decorated with blue stopper and blue tassel on the neck of the flacon. Liquid of the flacon is coloured in warm pink.
Composition of Shalimar Parfum Initial is created of citruses, green notes, flowers, woody accords and oriental scents. Starting from citruses, the composition adds zest of bergamot and orange. Rose flowers and jasmine enjoy embrace of woody accords of vetiver and patchouli, while oriental notes of vanilla, white musk and luscious tonka give seductive warmth to the whole composition. Green notes provide a fresher tone to the composition.
Face of the advertising campaign for the new Shalimar Parfum Initial is Natalia Vodianova, photographed naked. These photos are supposed to represent innocence and chastity of woman's body, new Eve. The photos were taken by Paolo Roversi.





Shalimar Parfum Initial will be available as 40, 60 and 100ml EDP, from March 2011.
On top of the youthful successor of the legendary Shalimar, Guerlain is launching Idylle Duet, the 4th version of Idylle, including a luxurious edition. Idylle Duet is a new face of fragrance Idylle – idyllic, feminine, floral and elegant.

Focus of the new edition is on romance developing between ingredients of the composition. Roses and patchouli can be sensed from the very beginning of the composition.
In top notes of Idylle Duet, Bulgarian roses and Indonesian patchouli play their romantic roles, accompanied by floral and very feminine choir of singing petals of lily of the valley, freesia, jasmine and peony. A base incorporates white musk and patchouli for the special pleasure of sensuality and elegance.
Perfumer of this edition is Thierry Wasser, who was inspired by work of Hector Berlioz from 1841 - Les Nuits d'Ete to compose the new Guerlain Idylle Duet.
The fragrance is available in a flacon shaped like its antecedent, as 35 ml EDP. Advertising campaign presents the fragrance in romantic spirit. Idylle Duet will be introduced on April 4th 2011.
